Sewn plush or needle-felted pet portrait?
“Pet felt customization” and “custom plush” are sometimes used as if they describe the same object. They do not necessarily do so. Ask which technique and materials a maker uses before deciding whether an object fits your expectations.
Start with the intended format
A sewn plush is constructed from fabric pieces and filling. Needle felting shapes fibers into a form using a felting needle. This distinction describes the formats in general; it is not a material specification for a product that has not been quoted.
Do not assume the same handling or care
A display portrait and a soft keepsake may have different handling requirements. Ask the actual maker whether the item is intended for display, whether components are delicate and what cleaning instructions apply. Do not infer machine washability, child suitability or pet-toy safety from the word plush.
Use references that match the piece
For a full-body form, gather several angles and a clear pose reference. For a portrait format, the face and visible markings become more central. In either case, tell the artist what is not shown clearly instead of leaving an important feature to guesswork.
Our current scope
The local cat and dog sites demonstrate custom plush ordering. Needle-felted wool portraits are not currently offered. If your main requirement is a specific fiber or technique, confirm availability before a real order rather than treating this comparison as a product listing.
